Keith is correct in saying the late JD was compiling the members list into areas, since becoming the new Membership Secretary I have now received the members list documents and can see that he was listing them into regional areas.

Upon request I will be able to supply a list of current members within a given area to whoever wants to start a local group.
Obviously some Club members do not wish their details to be shared and those details will be omitted.
At a glance there are 24 members listed as "Ang" which I assume is Anglia - covering the Counties of Norfolk,Essex, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Lincolnshire.
The list is not finished as yet, but I will make this my first "project".

Colin Wells.

Just seen this thread. David Lewis 203 miles, John Searby 222 miles, so I win (again!).

Really impressive of John and David to have made the journey. As a very senior member of our Club (m/n 98) I think John does indeed win!

oh, and ps: so pleased to see the membership stuff is safely with you, Colin. In a forthcoming FN we will publish the entire membership list anyway (excluding those who have ticked the 'privacy' box of course) and probably do as the previous time ie just mem.no., name (no title), and address. That first list was bound into the centre of the magazine with a request that should the recipient have no use for it, the list could be removed and destroyed. At the AGM it was wisely suggested that the next list be simply enclosed with the magazine to make abstraction easier. I'm asking our printers how much extra such a hand-insertion will cost (auto-collating is obviously cheaper). We'll see . . .

Many thanks for your kind offer, Paul, and yes you're right that the correct url for our Club can be found at http://www.a40farinaclub.co.uk and Stoney will be able to tell you the link to the Club's Facebook page that he and secretary Paul look after.

As you know, Scotty has offered a venue for meetings (I think there's also a pub nearby!) and once 'our' Colin has sorted entries for your neck of the woods you'll be able to contact the members locally to see if there's any interest. Good Luck! and don't forget to let Farina News know, so I can advertise things in the magazine (next one's due in early September, and then in December).

I have posted information regarding local groups in the "Club" side of the forums - due to member confidentiality.
